PRACTICAL FOOTWEAR GUIDE

Materials & care

Understand common surface descriptions and take a cautious approach to everyday shoe care.

This is general guidance, not a statement of any style's actual composition or performance. Check the product information and any care label first; ask SHEOSIN about the specific style if details are unclear.

Start with gentle everyday care

Remove loose dust

Use a clean, soft, dry cloth or a suitable soft brush without rubbing delicate surfaces aggressively.

Let shoes dry naturally

If shoes become damp, keep them in a ventilated place away from direct sun, heaters and other heat sources.

Store without pressure

Store only when dry, avoid crushing straps or decorations, and separate surfaces that may mark one another.

Check the surface before choosing a method

Textile and knit descriptions

A textile or knit description does not identify an exact fibre blend, lining or adhesive. Weave and stretch alone do not establish washability.

Begin with gentle dry dust removal. Do not soak or machine-wash unless the specific care instructions expressly allow it.

Synthetic and coated surfaces

Synthetic or coated uppers can have different surface finishes. Appearance alone does not prove a leather composition or water resistance.

Avoid abrasive tools, solvents and unconfirmed polishes. Use liquid cleaners only when the style's instructions permit them, and test an inconspicuous area first.

Suede-like or delicate finishes

A suede-like appearance does not confirm natural suede. Raised, printed, metallic and decorative finishes can require different handling.

Do not scrub or apply a general-purpose cleaner before confirming the finish and the appropriate method for that style.

Buckles, trims and mixed materials

An upper, sole, lining and decorative parts may require different care. A method suitable for one part may not suit the whole shoe.

Remove dust gently around attachments, avoid pulling decorative parts, and confirm a whole-shoe method before using a cleaning product.

Do not assume shoes are waterproof, colourfast or suitable for washing. Avoid bleach, soaking and direct heat unless product-specific instructions state otherwise. If uncertain, stop and ask before cleaning.
